Katsina State is being overrun by criminal elements and there is need for urgent and decisive actions to deal with the menace and restore normalcy in about 18 local government areas in the state.
The escalating banditry attacks in Katsina State has resulted in loss of lives, destruction of properties and kidnapping of innocent men, women, children and therefore needs more attention from the Federal Government of Nigeria
This was expressed by Hon Sada Soli, the Member Representing Jibia/Kaita Federal Constituency in Katsina state.
Hon Soli moved the motion of urgent national importance expressing concerns about the devastating impact of banditry on the lives and livelihoods of people of Katsina State.
He said the security agencies are yet to take decisive actions to address the security challenges in Katsina State.
He called for the increase in deployment of security personnel to the affected communities to combat banditry and restore peace and order.
He further explained that some gangs of armed bandits from neighboring Kaduna and Zamfara States are making all efforts to gain control over some communities in Katsina State.

The House noted that our gallant troops carried out a ferocious operations on Monday 4th March, 2024 in Kurfi and Safana Local Government Areas of Katsina State which resulted in the killing of two notorious bandits while other fled with various gunshot wounds.
To this end, the House also observed a minute silence in honour of the deceased victims killed, urged NEMA and Ministry of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation to urgently provide humanitarian assistance to the affected communities and support the displaced persons acres the state
