Poor and vulnerable Nigerians will receive 42 000 metric tons of grains from the Federal Government in its desire to ease life for them due to economic hardship.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation Muhammed Idris and Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, said in a press conference that the food items will be released free of charge by the Tinubu administration and will reach every Nigerian, especially the needy.
“The 42, 000 metric tonnes of food from the national food reserves is free. We’re trying to crash down the prices of food and make it available,” Kyari said.
“So these 42, 000 metric tonnes of food will be given to the needy free of charge. It would go directly to the needy at no cost at all.
“We’ve met with the DSS and NEMA to give us the index. This is to gather intelligence on where it is needed the most, and we are going to look at those indices”
