Katsina Police launches eCMR

The Katsina State Police Command has launched Electronic Central Motor Registry, eCMR Office, located at the command headquarters.

It is aimed at bolstering efforts to tackle vehicle-related crimes and enhance public safety and security.

The step is in line  with the policy of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolo Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, to enhance internal security.

A statement signed and issued by ASP ABUBAKAR SADIQ ALIYU, anipr,, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Katsina State Command said the eCMR represents a strategic leap forward to effectively address vehicle-related crimes such as car theft, vandalism, etc.

“By leveraging advanced technology and streamlined reporting mechanisms, the NPF seeks to create a more robust and responsive framework for addressing these challenges.

“Through the eCMR platform, citizens are encouraged to promptly report incidents and provide relevant information to facilitate swift and effective resolution of vehicle-related offenses. This initiative holds the potential to significantly deter criminal activities and enhance the overall security landscape.

“The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Police Command, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, psc+, calls upon all members of the public to key into this important initiative and contribute to the collective effort to mitigate vehicle-related crimes. By embracing eCMR and actively participating, individuals can play a vital role in the ongoing fight against all forms of vehicle-related crimes in the state and country at large, ” the statement said.
