Recall that President Bola Tinubu directed Edu’s suspension, citing accusations of channeling public funds into private accounts.
Enitan assumed office after receiving a directive from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, in line with Tinubu’s orders.
Reports indicate that President Tinubu mandated Edu to cooperate fully with investigating authorities probing the alleged fraud.
In a statement issued by Tinubu’s Special Adviser, Ajuri Ngelale, a panel, led by the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, was tasked with conducting a comprehensive financial assessment of social investment programs.
The objective is to reform relevant institutions and programs to eradicate institutional weaknesses, ensuring the exclusive benefit of disadvantaged households, and restoring public trust in the initiatives.
