The Government of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria has flagged off the construction of an 18 kilometer Sanga-Jema’a road project which connects Gwantu, headquarters of Sanga Local Government Area and Kafanchan, the Jema’a Local Government Area.
The oroject was launched by Governor Uba Sani who pointed out that the Sanga – Jema’a road is part of the rural transformation initiative focused on revitalizing the rural economy and bridging the developmental gap between rural and urban areas.
“The road, which links two major local government areas in the Southern part of Kaduna through Kiban to Godogodo, is an entirely new route intended to reduce travel time between the two LGAs. The existing road through Fadan Karshi – Gidan Waya spans 62 kilometres,” he explained.
Sani reiterated his administration’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises, particularly focusing on rural development through extensive infrastructure enhancement.
He said that the road would facilitate the movement of people and simplify the transportation of agricultural produce to markets.
Furthermore, he stressed its potential to reduce post-harvest losses, encourage agricultural productivity, and grant improved access to education, and healthcare facilities, thus lessening poverty and enhancing living standards.
Mr. Ibrahim Hamza, the Commissioner for Public Works and Infrastructure, said that the project aligns with the governor’s commitment to improving the lives and prospects of rural dwellers.
He underscored the governor’s dedication to infrastructural development, evident in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Sanga–Jema’a road project. (NAN)
