The Peoples Democratic Party. PDP is crashing as hundreds of its members and supporters, lead by a two term member representing Zango Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency Godfrey Ali Gaiya defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zone three of Kaduna state.
The event took place at Sabon Gari Chori, Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, congratulated them for seeing the need to join the party to move not just their communities forward, but the state and country as a whole.
The governor spoke through the administrator of Jaba Local Government Area, Mrs Nita Byack Goerge, reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people without any segregation.
Receiving the defectors on behalf of the APC state chairman, the zonal chairman of the party, Shehu Tafa, congratulated them for taking the bold step to partake in rescuing Nigeria from total collapse.
While soliciting for patience and support from Nigerians to position Nigeria back to her lost glory, the APC Zone 3 Chairman, said the party gives equal opportunity to all to including members who joined the party
Speaking on behalf of other defectors, Hon Godfrey Ali Gaiya who is now the Special Adviser to the Speaker of House of Representatives on Political Affairs North West Zone, said he joined the ruling party because of his desire to fast track democratic dividends driven in Uba Sani’s Sustain Agenda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda to his community.
While pledging to contribute meaningfully to further enhance the growth and development of the party, Mr. Gaiya noted that politics is about interest and strategy.
Also speaking at the event, the state assistant secretary APC Halima Lanti Nyet, said the Party’s commitment to taking the people of Nigeria to another level of meaningful development was the reason politicians are trooping to the APC in their numbers.
Similarly the chairman APC Jaba Local Government, Daniel Gwada Gauji, stated that the way and manner people are decamping from other parties to APC in Southern Kaduna, is a sign that the politics of the zone is taking a turning point in the lives of the people.
Gauji noted that APC is a good party which loves the people, and assured those coming in, the same treatment with those already members of the Party.
Earlier during the rally, the team visited the Emir of Jama’a Alhaji Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu at his Palace in Kafanchan to felicitate with him on his 25th anniversary on the throne.
Honourable Godfrey Ali Gaiya congratulated the Emir and commended him for bringing rapid and meaningful development and peaceful coexistence to the area
