Israel seeks $10 billion emergency aid from US

Israel has requested $10 billion from the United States in emergency aid, as Palestinian-Israeli conflict escalates, The New York Times newspaper.has reported.

The report says the White House is said to be in the process of preparing an assistance package for Israel, which also contains aid to Ukraine and Taiwan, and funding to enhance security at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Antony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State, confirmed that Washington is actively reviewing Israel’s requests for additional military assistance to support their operations in the Gaza Strip.

On Tuesday, John Kirby, the spokesperson of the White House National Security Council, said that President Joe Biden, during his visit to Israel, scheduled for October 18, would receive an update from Israeli officials regarding their strategy against Hamas in Gaza, including the progress of their military operations.
