Public officers have been banned from using official vehicles for personal uses in Yobe State, North East Nigeria
The order was handed over by
Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni shortly after presiding over the swearing-in of nine newly appointed permanent secretaries into the state civil service.
“The conversion of government vehicles and facilities to personal use and services at the expense of government work is hereby banned,” he declared.
Buni ordered that all government vehicles be strictly used for government assignments, ordering the Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service, and Permanent Secretaries to ensure that public officers comply with his directive.
“The Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service, and Permanent Secretaries are hereby directed to ensure compliance,” he directed.
Governor Buni warned that the government will not condone wastage or diversion of government resources to sabotage efforts to provide services to the people.
“As we undertake our second and final term of office, we will ensure that government resources are judiciously and effectively used to improve the welfare of our people,” he assured
