SECURITY: Katsina relaxes ban on movement of vehicles

After reviewing the security situation in Katsina State authorities have relaxed the restriction of vehicles movements in some locations in the state

Recall that on August 27, the government banned the use of commercial motorcycles and tricycles at night across 19 LGAs as part of efforts to enhance security in the state.

Thus tricycles and motorcycles were banned from operating from 8pm to 6am across 19 LGAs of the state.

In a statement on Wednesday the Katsina State commissioner

for internal security Nasir Mu’azu said the ban would now be enforced between 10pm and 6am.

Mu’azu said the decision was made during a security council meeting on Tuesday.

He added that the security council appreciated the cooperation and support from residents of the state assuring that efforts are being made by the government to tackle the security challenges in the state.

The affected LGAs are Sabuwa, Dandume, Funtua, Faskari, Bakori, Kankara, Danja, Kafur, Malumfashi, Musawa, Matazu, Danmusa, Safana, Dutsinma, Kurfi, Charanchi, Jibia, Batsari and Kankia
