The Katsina State Government has approved over N640 million for the payment of scholarship to new and continuing students in various institutions of higher learning within and outside Nigeria.
There are 47,935 students studying in 126 institutions of higher learning across the Country and beyond.
The approval is an effort to settle all outstanding scholarship allowances to the students of Katsina State.
The approval was announced in statement by the Public Relations Officer of the board, Alhaji Sslisu Lawal Kerau saying the disclosure was made by the Executive Secretary Katsina State Scholarship Board, Malam
Aminu Salisu Tsauri, Ph.D.
Mal Tsauri said the Radda led administration is determined to
cushion the effect of current economic hardship being faced by the students of Katsina State as a
result of removal of fuel subsidy in the country
The Executive secretary urged the students to reciprocate the gesture by paying attention to their studies and become good and productive citizens of the State.
He further explained that the sum of N183,441,936 is for the
payment of 14,443 fresh students while continuing students numbering 33,492 will be paid the sum of N443,576,000.
The funds approved, also include logistics for the conduct of 2022/2023 scholarship award interview which all necessary arrangements have been made for its commencement.
The statement added that Katsina State Government under the able leadership of His Excellency
Malam Dikko Umar Radda, Ph.D will continue to pay attention to the plight of Katsina State students and ensure prompt and timely payment of scholarship allowances.
The executive secretary further extended his profound appreciation on behalf of the board and
entire Katsina State Students, to His Excellency Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, for looking into
the plight of Students as part of his campaign promises and assured him of their unflinching support
