The spate of coups in Africa and in West African countries  and in particular ECOWAS countries of recent times must be subjected to holistic research as to why.

The questions to ask are,why is it that, these coups are supported by the people of their nations.

Why is it that despite the coups in Mali, Burkina Faso,Niger and others that brought these and other nations into political and economic conllusions with AU and ECOWAS and yet Gabon just came in with it’s own.

Therefore,it is necessary to broadly highlight some factors that could be responsible as to why the sudden growth in coups in Africa and in West African countries of recent times:

i.bBad governance.

ii. Inappropriate delivery of dividends of democracy.

iii. Negative grudges by the people of the country.

iv. Display of flamboyance by the politicians.

v. General disregard of people’s welfare.

vi. Foreign negative interventions and interferences.

vii. Negative internal political interventions.

viii. Instigations by the pressure groups.

ix. Attitudes by the political opponents who does not want the ruling political party to succeed.

Therefore, these coupists climb upon these factors to change their governments.Moreso that since they have access to weapons.

However,it is for the leaders to block their ways through positive and sincere governance for the African and West African soldiers to discard from these retrogressive actions which is not in consonance with 21st century ideology.
