The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Katsina on Thursday 24th August, 2023 ruled in favour of Senator Abdul’aziz Musa ‘Yar’adua of Katsina Central Senatorial District against his opponent Surajo Aminu Makera of the PDP.

After scrutiny by the Tribunal on all submissions, hearing and final presentations by the two sides before it, the three man panel ruled out that the petition filed by Surajo Aminu Makera challenging the validity of the election results lacked jurisdiction.

The Tribunal therefore delivered its final judgement in favour of Senator ‘Yar’adua who has the majority lawful votes in the Senatorial election and the rightful winner of the Senatorial election.

In an interview with the leading Counsel to Senator ‘Yar’adua  shortly after the Tribunal ruling, Barrister El-Mutum commended the Tribunal for looking into all submissions surrounding the petition which according to him was thorough and very hard fought petition.

Barrister El-Mutum advised the victorious Senator to stick to his mandate and live up to the expectations of the good people of Katsina Central Senatorial District that voted him into power.

In a separate interviews with two leading supporters of Senator ‘Yar’adua, Alhaji Dahiru Abu Darma and Alhaji Shehu Kafinta expressed delight and advised the Senator to  live up to expectations.
