Tinubu meets governors of states sharing boarder with Niger Republic

The President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has consulted with governors of states sharing boarder with the Republic of Niger, Sunday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday

The meeting was part of efforts in finding solutions to the crisis in Niger Republic which has the potential of becoming a disaster in the West African subregion.
Niger Republic shares boarder with Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Jigawa, Zamfara, Borno and Yobe States and the meeting was attended by their governors.
The ultimatum given by President Tinubu in his capacity as Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to the military government in Niger Republic to return power back to Mohammed Bazoum has ended yesterday .
Beyond the ultimatum, Tinubu in a meeting which held in Abuja last weekend also announced a number of sanctions which have seen borders linking Niger blocked, while power and flight activities have been halted indefinitely.
Tinubu had written the leadership of the National Assembly to approve the deployment of military personnel to the troubled Niger but denied andĀ  cautioned to tread carefully in the present circumstances
