Sen Godswill Akpabio has won the Nigeria’ s Senate Presidency, scoring 63 votes against Sen Abdulaziz Yari who went away with 46 votes.
Akpabio is the prefered choice of the All Progressives Congress for the Senate presidency.
He was a former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and served as a Minister for Niger Delta Affairs from 2019 to 2022, and currently represents Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial zone.
