Education and enlightenment classes designed by the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board for the benefit of intending Pilgrims from State has commenced.
The Katsina State Governir, Alhaji Aminu Masari declared the sensitization workshop open and charged the intending Pilgrims to take advantage of the programme to enhance their knowledge of Hajj rites and the new operational guidelines and policies introduced by Saudi Arabia and NAHCON.
He was represented by the commissioner for religious affairs, Alhaji Isa Lawal Doro.
The governor said “Your active participation will undoubtedly enhance your Islamic knowledge on Hajj rites and opportunity to gain proper guidance on your trip to the Holy land for pilgrimage”
The event was the first phase of the continued version of the new model of Pilgrims enlightenment programme tagged “THREE IN ONE” introduced by the board last year, was holding at the Pilgrims board’s headquarters in Katsina on Saturday.
Katrina State Government has provided all needed support to the board to effectively mobilise the Ulamas, Resource Persons and other stakeholders to achieve desired objectives.
Masari therefore called on the intending Pilgrims to reciprocate the gesture by attending the classes to enhance their knowledge of the exercise.
Alhaji Suleiman Nuhu Kuki, the Executive Director of the board, in his remarks, said, attendance by intending Pilgrims is mandatory, each must record 75 percent attendance to qualify for visa and eventual undertaking of the trip.
He however noted that, similar programme will continue in all the seven zonal offices of the board, consequently running up to the time of the commencement of the outbound airlift operations.
He advised the intending Pilgrims to conclude all their documentions and submit their e-passports on time to enable the board commence the process of securing their traveling papers.
Kuki added that, during the ongoing exercise, the annual vaccination exercise as well as the general health and pregnancy screening for female intending Pilgrims would be conducted within the period.
He however commended Governor Aminu Bello Masari for his unrelenting support to the board, saying that, the state government has concluded all necessary arrangements on accommodation, feeding and transportation to ensure their comfort while in the Holy land
