. Reports say residents ran helter skelter for their lives as the attackers opened fire indiscriminately.
The Kaduna State Governmrnt has confirmed the incident throgh the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan on Sunday morning, noting that many others were left injured by the terrorists’ attack.
Aruwan revealed that the Nigerian army was able to respond to distress calls from residents of the area and this made the casualties not higher than 29.
Samuel Aruwan told journalists that the Nigerian army and some vigilantes engaged the bandits in a fierce fight and some of the terrorists were killed. He noted that the military is still in the area to maintain peace and order.
Several houses in the community were burnt by the bandits before the intervention of the Nigerian military. Reacting to the attack, the Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai condemned the attack. He described them as unacceptable and unjustifiable. The Kaduna state Governor sent his condolences to the families of the affected victims
