The Katsina State Government will construct 75 nee secondary schools under the Adolescent Girls initiative for learning and Empowerment on AGILE program,
Commissioner of education Professor Badamasi Lawal Charanchi has confirmed when he led the world Bank task team to a courtesy call to the state governor Alh Aminu Bello Masari.
The commissioner revealed that the new school project covering junior and Senior secondary schools would be carried out under the AGILE program at the cost of about fifteen Billion naira .
Professor Badamasi Charanchi who appreciated the world Bank for supporting one hundred and fifty eight secondary schools with twenty four million naira each for school development, also thanked for recording a number of achievements in the state.
This, he said, include training of five hundred teachers on capacity building,and providing financial support to over sixteen thousand students of Junior and Senior secondary schools under conditional cash transfer .
Also benefited from the AGILE program is the training of members of school based management committees on funds management which made it possible for judicious utilization of grant allocated to the state for school’s development.
He then thanked the State governor Aminu Bello Masari for fulfilling all condition toward the actualisation of the AGILE program in the state
