In its upscale in fighting Insecurity, the Nigerian military has dismantled 23 illegal oil refineries and collected 2,509,000 liters of crude oil, 133,824 liters of diesel, 7,000 liters of kerosene, one vessel, and 16 tankers.
The military was also reported to have carried out joint air and artillery bombardment of criminal hideouts in the North-west and North-central in the previous two weeks. The operations lead to the elimination of 95 bandits and kidnappers and the capture of 61 others.
The operation was carried out by the combined forces of Operations Safe Haven, Hadarin Daji, Whirl Stroke, Restore Sanity, and Whirl Punch, as well as the air component in the aforementioned areas of responsibility, Maj Gen Musa Damadami, Director, Defence Media Operations (DDMO), said at a press conference in Abuja.
He also said the military forces detained 40 people, neutralized seven suspected criminals, and saved 28 civilians.
